Portions for 08/23/2025
Shalom Alecheim,
Do you “see” the picture above and the post title? The Hebrew word for see, is Re’eh. Re’eh, is to see and that is this weeks Torah portion. This, as we left Egypt and before we got into Israel, comes from the Torah, still applies to us all in Israel, here in America and there, even today. The teacher in the picture above is looking at the old text, applying to the modern city, because the old text and laws and rules never changed then, or now, and will always be until the end of time itself.
Even the Christians, at least those who separate themselves from all the 4600 cults and Catholic church spoon-fed teachings enough to read things for themselves, and actually read the Torah and even the bible, know that Yeshua did not come to end the law, but to fulfill and that not one thing in law changed. To see the words are the rules of how to live, have society, guides us and instructs. Cities of great wickedness and their wicked leaders in Denver Colorado have tried to change the laws, calling all lifestyles as modern and good, when they call Torah “outdated”, yet it is not what the Torah says. Donations continue, but tithes have no as tithes was based on crops and Temple, but a Third Temple is coming, and possibly quite soon, as where the proper place for certain ceremonies of sacrifice will occur. Yet, you are still supposed to follow and obey the law. The you…Re’eh, and see.
Torah Portion: Deuteronomy 11:26-16:17
Haftarah Portion: Isaiah 54:11-55:5
So what we have is the exit of Israelites, from Egypt, and the giving of the laws and instructions. Re’eh, or “See” which details a series of laws in advance of the Israelites’ entrance into the Land of Israel. This includes obligations to destroy idolatry. And laws of tithing and charity, dietary laws, holiday laws, and the prohibition of offering sacrifices outside of the place designated by God. Yet, once they are in Israel, and have the knowledges, they still need the hope of the great comings against and futures, as we see in Isaiah as it is great consolation and grace, promising a great and glorious restoration, eternal security, and a free eternal covenant with God.
Isaiah is one of those great books where many Christians and Messianics say “ah, you see, it is all fulfilled”. And many Jews say “hardly, there is no Third Temple yet, and where is our Greater Israel and eternal world peace? Is one side wrong, and the other side right? To many Christians or Messianics, you can see their point of view, but…they usually haven’t finished coming out of Babylon or the Catholic or Christian churches yet and are still reacting to things they were simply told and heard inside a church, than doing deep Torah and prophet study for themselves. Then you see many Jews or practitioners of Judaism,….also having many sects and cults too, and they have their points to make too.
There is still a renewed Jerusalem coming, there is still a Third Temple coming soon, Ezekiel 38 hasn’t finished playing out, there is still wars coming following fake peace short-lived, and wars still to be fought.
Hashem is going to answer the questions, and fill in all the blanks soon. Stay rooted, follow the law, study the Torah and you will begin to Re’eh….to see.
B’ Shalom,
