Shalom Aleichem,
We have such a short simple messege this week. It’s a bit off the beaten path of how Torah portions go due to God’s interactive nature with humans in this life. The life of a ministry founder was called home, …to the rooms in her heavenly fathers house, having done her great works in this life. She had so much more works to do with family and community, and despite ability, desire and drive, Hashem pulled her over to her future home, as she awaits the resurrection.
The word above, is Hebrew שְּׁמִינִי, “eighth“. Try not to confuse it with the holiday Shemini Atzeret.
Parashat Shemini tells of the consecration of the Tabernacle, the deaths of Nadab and Abihu, and the dietary laws of Kashrut. It comes as a huge surprise to USA Christians, that Kosher, was never done away with in the person and events of Yashua. One of this Ministrys founders, Carol Johnson a convert to Torah and Old Testaments, discovered for herself the law, is still alive, that she has tribe connections, and the power of the Torah. Then she died this week. Such a blessing, despite this ministries deep sorrows for our personal loss of one of its most valuable founders. She got her great grandkids corrected on the old path, they now hang the Shemah on the wall of their house and accepting that (Yashua) Jesus is a Jew. That’s’ a lot of hard work for an old woman in the USA version of Christian saturation, but she did it. She left behind, exactly what she was supposed to. Like the rituals described in this weeks Torah Portions, she experienced the lord and is onward to her own eighth day. When she died, her eyes still open, looked upward as if to the heavenly father.
For purposes of honoring her great life that honored God, her family, her country, and rediscovering of Israel, and this ministry we keep this messege today short and sweet, so we may observe Shabbat, finish our grieving, and dedicate our blessed memories back to God from which she comes from.
The portions are below, we ask you do your own studies of it without our insightful narrative, and we look forward to resuming next week.
Torah: Leviticus 9:1-11:47
