Parashat Vayak’hel for March 22, 2025

In Hebrew, is “Moses Assembled”. We continue the journey now. The next four Shabbat sessions deal with the approaching passover. Moses assembled the entire community of the Israelites and said to them, “These are the things that God has commanded to do.”. In the last few post, Parashat of Terumah, Tetzaveh including the first part of Ki Tisa, Yahweh instructed Moses regarding the making of the Mishkan (Tabernacle, dwelling place), its vessels, and the priestly garments. Temple Institutes has duplicated those garments, and is ready for the Temple to be built in gratitude of the middle-east reshaping underway by Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump.
In this week’s Torah readings, we see the glory of Yahweh fills the Temple after the work of building it was completed. As it will be again when the Third Temple is soon, in our life-times completed. In the past Temple we all then did give praise, and we will again soon for Third Temple, “How lovely is your dwelling place [Mishkan], Yahweh Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of Yahweh; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living Yahweh.” (Psalm 84:1-2). This Psalm so perfectly expresses that our living Yahweh seeks the coming Temple as much as we do.
In this week’s readings, the glory of the Lord filled the Temple after the work of building it was completed.
New word for the week, below it says “Boresh”. In Hebrew it means the effect of “good news, or gospel”. Many in US trying to look or sound “Jewish” in “Jewish authority”, say the word Brit Hadasha, yet as we are currently based in the USA, some readers bias is more accustomed to simpler words like “good news” without need of making western Christians suspicious, paranoid and terrified on their own holy text, so for them, we keep it simple with “Boresh”.
