Parashat Vayikra for April 5, 2025

Shalom Aleichem,

And he called….is the English call out of the Hebrew word “vayikra” here at the 24th weekly portion Torah. It is also a form of Hebrew for the book of Leviticus, God calling Moses at the tent of meeting, discussing the laws on animal sacrifice. This week, I have a large lamb pot roast cooking in slow cooker, and just shut off the power before the Shabbat time started. Its lamb, as well as sacrifices went from Ram, to lamb. A lamb sacrificed itself, to be a part of Saturdays oneg feast in our “home synagogue” meal after the Torah reads.

We hope you have been well this week. We live in very exciting times where there is much prophecy unfolding about persia (Iran), and possibility of American and Israeli strikes looming that will change the course of world events, and likely get us closer to Third Temple as well. If all that Jew, Hebrew, Israel, Third Temple stuff seemed boring to you before, well….it’s not anymore. The confusion about animal sacrifices comes back into focus, and we realize, that for the Temple, those laws actually have not changed and is still required and there is no distinction of that, for Christians or Jews.

We must be patient with our fellow believers that follow Rabbi Yashua, who mistakenly thought Leviticus expired at midnight 2000 years ago, or that animal sacrifices and the laws of it somehow stopped. They did not. Third Temple will prove that. Blood sacrifice to atone our sins is an ideal many, only some, have forgotten and lost the meaning and purpose of law on the sacrifice. The law is still true and still our template to understand these things. Forgiveness, was never meant to separate you from understanding of law to know even why. It is not a Jew vs Christian thing, Jews had it right all along, Christians simply forgot.

Torah Leviticus 1:1-5:26

Shabbat Haftarah: Isaiah 43:21-44:23

Boresh: Hebrews 9:1-28

Korbonat, Hebrew for offerings…passover is fast coming in days. Please don’t forget in the meantime, to put red ribbons around your door frame for passover, well before any possible strikes on Iran as your “shelter in place” (passover) in methods, until it has all passed over. Think ahead, until we have our Third Temple, what korbonat from your heart in praise and thanks do you offer to God today? Below is an example of how easy it is to put a passover ribbon around your door…of your home Synagogue.

Until next week….please send an email asking to recieve your free weekly Torah portion to asst.rabbi@mountainmajestyministries.com

B’Shalom
